PI Air Bearing XYZ

Air bearing technology allows for precise positioning of linear slides and rotational stages due to its lack of friction and mechanical contact. This results in no wear, minimal vibration, and negligible hysteresis or reversal error, making it ideal for various inspection and manufacturing operations. The elimination of stiction further improves resolution and reduces in-position hunting and position repeatability, which can be achieved within a few encoder counts. While similar precision can be achieved with piezo flexure guided stages, they have limited travel ranges. Magnetic levitation is also a viable option. When paired with our ACS controllers, an even higher level of precision can be achieved.
